Recycling has always been a very interesting topic for me and following up my post about “buying old mobile phones” I really want to stick to this topic. There so many alternatives to dispose an old mobile phone in an environmentally friendly way. Companies like ZONZOO which are purchasing old mobiles, do a good job for our planet.

Repair it!

I try my best not to throw so many things in the garbage can when they aren’t working anymore or are damaged. It could be cheaper if you replace it with a new one, but repairing is a more ecological option. Ecogeek suggests to fix your phone on yourself: just google your own phone repair tutorial. Repairing mobile phones becomes a serious business, hence many mobile repair shops can be found in many German cities. If you type “Handy Reparatur Berlin” in google search, you’ll find several search hits. Some more creative ideas can be found here.

Buying old mobile phones

 

Piling up mobile phones

By the time I’ve piled up five mobile phones, although I’m only using one of them daily. I’m not alone with this phenomenon which is also well known among my friends. Four old, dusty and unused mobile phones are lying under my bed. What should I do with all of them? There are many ecologically correct ways of disposing mobile phones. I’ve taken a closer look on ZONZOO, because I want to exchange my old mobiles for some cash.
